Power Workers’ Union

Overview

The Power Workers’ Union (PWU) is a proud Canadian union representing over 18,000 members from over 55 organizations, the vast majority of the unionized workers in Ontario’s electricity sector. The dedicated and highly-skilled men and women of the PWU operate and maintain generating stations (including all Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation nuclear facilities) as well as transmission and distribution systems and grid control facilities across the province.

Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries

Overview

Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) is an association of more than 220 Canadian-based companies that supply equipment and services to the domestic and offshore nuclear industries. OCNI member companies employ more than 15,000 highly skilled and specialized engineers, technologists, and trades people. OCNI companies will have a key role in constructing and supplying components for SMRs in Canada and in offshore markets.

Ontario Tech University

Overview

Ontario Tech was founded in 2002 to advance the discovery and application of knowledge that accelerates economic growth, regional development and social innovation. It is home to the Faculty of Energy Systems and Nuclear Science, FESNS, Canada’s only dedicated faculty of nuclear engineering and host to Canada’s only undergraduate nuclear engineering degree program.

Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation (Fedoruk Centre)

Overview

The Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation Inc. (Fedoruk Centre) was established in 2011 under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (SC 2009, c 3), with the purpose “to place Saskatchewan among global leaders of nuclear research, development and training, through investment in partnerships with academia and industry for maximum societal and economic benefit” (Articles of incorporation, Amended 2012, Oct. 5).
